Each bloom tells a story, showcasing vibrant colours and intricate patterns that inspire my artistic journey. Painting photo-realistically allows you to experience the elegance of flowers up close and personal and sometimes larger than life.
In my latest collection, 'Coexist', I captured the essence of spring with three large watercolour paintings dedicated to its vibrant flowers—my absolute favourite season. Spring symbolises hope and possibility, a magical time when we, like the blossoming flowers, shake off our slumber and embrace the warmth ahead. I chose two of my favourites: the Magnolia, with its delicate pinks and velvety petals, and Wisteria, resembling cascading raindrops of lavender beauty. To complete the trio, I selected the stunning orchid, flaunting its deep magenta hue and intricate patterns. Each piece reflects the joyful spirit of renewal that spring brings.
One of my first commissions was for a large-scale crop farmer in Lincolnshire, who wanted to celebrate the beauty of their hard work in a visual way. We selected six crops from their fields—some destined for our plates, others serving as cover crops—and created a stunning collection of A2 paintings. Each piece magnifies the intricate details we often overlook, inviting viewers to appreciate the harmony and richness of the agricultural landscape.
